WHAT ARE INTERNET PROFESSIONALS? Can You Become One?
When you think of a person that owns and operates an online business what title comes to mind? What if this same person is responsible not only for the administrative side of the business but also for the web development? Additionally, what if this same person manages and directs others and what if he/she is in charge of tracking and analyzing all statistics which are used in making important decisions. And of course, it is this same person that is responsible for those decisions. In reality, these people are quite a hybrid...they are working in various capacities at different levels.
So what type of person is suited to do such work? And what title appropriately describes these unique individuals? Although the term 'Internet Professionals' is often used to describe the person responsible for creating and maintaining a website(s) that is functional and worthy, it seems to me that a true Internet Professional is more likely to be the individual that does that plus a whole lot more.
Regardless of what title is given to whom, every online business must have at least one person that oversees the Internet presence of the business. What are the qualifications for such a person? Whether they are computer savvy in the beginning or not they will necessarily become so over time. A solid knowledge of salesmanship and how to promote and advertise will have to be developed if the individual is new to this.
Writing skills are essential to the Internet Professional if he/she is going to 'do things himself'. But being able to write is not enough. In fact, the Internet requires a certain style and technique of its own when it comes to writing. It is important to remember that words on a webpage can be seen by millions for years to come.
True Internet Professionals understand that Internet Strategies must be mastered if their business is to be the success it can be. They know that learning can never stop because the Internet is always changing - and those changes require new strategies. The competition on the Internet can be fierce so if one is to excel or even simply keep up, he must be flexible and ready to roll with the changing times.
What about you - do you have what it takes? Can you fill the role of the Internet Professional in your own home-based business?
